TFP-NY: Training for Professionals


Training in Transference-Focused Psychotherapy

This course will begin with review of the principles and techniques of TFP. It will then move on to case material. The instructors will provide the initial case material, including videos of sessions that illustrate management of typical situations. After this introductory phase, the course will shift to primarily discussion and supervision of participantsí cases. After completing this course participants should have acquired the fund of knowledge and clinical skills to be a competent TFP therapist. Participants will receive a certificate from the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research for the year-long course.

We offer two different training opportunities:
1. Weekly seminar in Manhattan held on Tuesday afternoons from 2:15 - 3:45 p.m. at 286 Madison Avenue (40th Street), OR
2. Weekly seminar held on Tuesday afternoons from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. EST conducted by videoconference.

We can tailor the format of our programs to meet the needs and budget of your organization. Programs generally include half- or full-day trainings supplemented weekly or monthly follow-up meetings.
